Need a quick dressing for a fruit salad? This Greek Yogurt cinnamon dressing is a delicious, low-fat substitute for whipped cream dressings. I made this particular dressing for my Apples Medley Salad recipe. This dressing is loaded with cinnamon and apple pie flavor and packed with protein rich; non-fat Greek yogurt.
I use Greek yogurt sweetened with honey or maple Syrup as a direct substitute for whipped cream and as a topping for pies and other desserts. Homemade Greek Yogurt is the best for this. You can strain homemade Greek yogurt until it’s very thick and creamy. That reduces the tartness found in store bought yogurt and makes it an excellent dressing. It’s all in how you make it!
Greek yogurt can go into almost any recipe that uses sour cream or whipped cream. Just that one change can reduce the overall fat content and increase the protein of your recipe. I love that!
I spiced this dressing with cinnamon and apple pie spice to complement Apple Medley Salad ingredients. Greek yogurt cinnamon dressing will work wonderfully with any fruit salad that requires a sweet creamy dressing. Adjust the sweetness, spices and consistency to whatever recipe you are using it for.
This topping is also stellar on desserts like apple crisp or blackberry apple crisp! For a green salad, try Creamy Balsamic Salad Dressing which also incorporates Greek yogurt.
Greek Yogurt Cinnamon Dressing:
This recipe makes about 2 cups of dressing. That’s about 10 to 12 servings or one large salad.
Adjust the spices and flavorings to suit your salad. The base is great for any fruit salad or dessert.
Whip up this dressing in a few minutes. This dressing doesn’t have to set in the fridge ahead of time, but you can make it ahead.
